STAMFORD, Conn.—Tribute Portfolio, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., has announced a new way for consumers to “Stay Independent” through a new partnership with Pitchfork. From Palm Springs to Paris, and London in between, Tribute Portfolio and Pitchfork will spotlight both emerging artists and established pioneers who apply a true independent mindset to their musical craft regardless of genre. The partnership will feature three exclusive pop-up events at Tribute Portfolio properties during key music festivals, with programming curated by Pitchfork. Kicking off during Coachella Music Festival on April 15-17, Pitchfork’s P4K Radio will broadcast live from The Riviera Palm Springs, a Tribute Portfolio Resort, with on-air guests such as Tyler Pope from LCD Soundsystem, Shamir, No Age, Courtney Barnett, DJ Mustard, Deafheaven, No Age, Nosaj Thing, Bad Bad Not Good, and Girlpool.
“Since our brand’s inception a year ago, Tribute Portfolio has brought some of the best indie talent to our guests in an effort to capture their desire to ‘stay independent,’” said Dave Marr, global brand leader for Tribute Portfolio. “Our new partnership with Pitchfork, one of the most trusted voices in independent music, will allow us to continue highlighting artists who truly embody our brand’s indie spirit, as well as provide our Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) Members access to exclusive festivals and music events across the globe.”
Having debuted last year, Pitchfork’s P4K Radio is a streaming, free form, live Internet radio station programmed with exclusive interviews, intimate live performances, deep cuts from rare vinyl collections, and a playlist curated by Pitchfork’s influential music editors. The Riviera Palm Springs’ pool, set against the stunning backdrop of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains, is the perfect spot for guests to kick back and chill in the desert sun with some of the best indie artists, musicians and DJs. In addition to the radio pop-up, the resort will host an exclusive High Tide pool party and other live events throughout the weekend.
The partnership between Tribute Portfolio and Pitchfork will continue beyond Palm Springs, with additional activations later this year in London during Field Day Festival in June, and in Paris, during Pitchfork Music Festival in October.
