On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Marriott International Asia Pacific has announced the retirement of Simon F. Cooper, president and managing director of Asia Pacific. He will leave the company at the end of the month after 17 years of service. Craig S. Smith, the current president of Marriott International Caribbean & Latin America, stepped into Cooper’s role on June 1.

Here are some other job moves that have occurred this week:

Alissa Montbriand
has been appointed vice president, global integrated marketing communications for Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. She previously oversaw and integrated digital strategy across various platforms at Bloomin’ Brands, Inc.

L.E. Hotels has named Patricia Davis vice president of operations. She joins L.E. Hotels after working as cluster director of revenue management for the Langham Hotels and Resorts North America division.

Richard Tannenbaum has been named senior vice president of sales and marketing for Interstate Hotels & Resorts’ Rim Hospitality Division. Tannenbaum most recently worked at Hilton Worldwide for eight years.

Hyatt Regency Orlando has announced three sales team promotions. Morgan Sears has been promoted to major market sales manager. She last served as the hotel’s meeting connections sales manager. Luke Miller has been promoted from sales manager to associate director of sales. He has been with Hyatt for 10 years. Matt Kilgo has been promoted to the position of meeting connections manager. He previously worked in several administrative roles.

Ashley Hawn has been named director of food & beverage for Costa d’Este Beach Resort & Spa in Vero Beach, Fla. She recently served as assistant director of food & beverage for Eau Palm Beach Resort.

Scott Bergren has been appointed to La Quinta Holdings Inc.’s board of directors. He took the seat of Michael B. Nash on June 9. Previously, Bergren served as chief executive officer of Pizza Hut and Yum Innovation.

Jumeirah Group has named Robert Swade group chief operating officer. He will assume the role Nicholas Clayton will vacate on June 18. Swade joined the company in 2005 as general counsel, and most recently served as group chief development officer.
