Royalton New York Introduces Pop-Up Sushi Bar

NEW YORK—Royalton New York, a Morgans Hotel, introduces Ozoku Sushi & Sashimi Bar—bringing a fresh culinary concept to the hotel’s iconic midtown lobby lounge. Just steps from Bryant Park, Royalton’s public space continues to serve as a popular gathering place amongst travelers and stylish New Yorkers alike.

Mixing traditional Japanese techniques with Western flavor profiles, the 30-seat Ozoku delivers a vibrant sushi, sashimi, and small-bites menu. Developed by the hotel’s Executive Chef Vanessa Miller, Ozoku at Royalton showcases the up-and-coming chef’s innovative approach and appreciation for thinking beyond the traditional.

In close collaboration with Royalton’s award-winning bartending team, Ozoku features a comprehensive sake and cocktail list. A recommended pairing from Miller, “The ‘Brooklyn Pom’ featuring Brooklyn Gin, House Pomegranate, Tonic and Lemon complements the fluke sashimi. The citrus in the drink pairs nicely with the yuzu yogurt, and the vibrancy of the gin helps mellow out the zest of the Szechuan peppercorns.”

“True to our ethos, Ozoku reflects a spirit of fun and creativity,” said Bryan Woody, general manager of Royalton. “Our lobby is a renowned hub for the international jet set, so it feels well-matched to unveil a dining option that reflects a global appeal—and here in New York, that’s very much sushi.”

“Sushi just seemed like such a natural fit for Royalton; there’s something sleek and luxurious about it, and being creative with the flavors by using ingredients that aren’t found in traditional Japanese cuisine plays right into our legacy of innovation,” commented Miller.

Ozoku is open now through May 30, 2016.
