Designer Earns Patent for Submerged Hotel Rooms

    Tony Webb, managing director of the Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel concept, has received a U.S. patent for his submerged luxury hotel design. With $3 million, he says he can construct a single underwater guest room with an elevator and support vessel approximately 30 feet below the surface.

    The patented design is a space of 18 feet by 12 feet. Each room will have a king bed, refrigerator, living area, and bathroom. The pods will have nightly rates between $3,000 to $6,000.
