DALLAS, Texas—The Highland Dallas, recently reimagined and rebranded from the Hotel Palomar, has appointed David Lemmond as general manager. In this role, Lemmond is responsible for overall hotel operations, sales, and marketing divisions and property-wide food and beverage program.
Lemmond brings experience to The Highland Dallas, having opened and operated a number of luxury boutique hotels. He joins the hotel from his former role as the general manager of Hotel Vitale in San Francisco, the flagship of Joie de Vivre hotels and Commune Hotels & Resorts. Prior to this position, Lemmond was the general manager at The Standard, High Line in New York’s Meatpacking District and lead the openings and operations at each of The Standard hotels in Hollywood, Downtown Los Angeles, and Miami Beach. He was also general manager of The Chamberlain West Hollywood.
“It’s an exciting time to join The Highland Dallas following its recent name change and new management,” said Lemmond. “This hotel is filled with opportunity to enhance its physical look through renovations and upgrades, instill a commitment to boutique service and build a special and unique lifestyle property that will resonate with today’s modern traveler.”
While in New York, he acted as board member of the Meat Packing Improvement Association (MPIA) and was on the executive committee of Embarcadeo Business Improvement District (BID) while in San Francisco. Lemmond intends to integrate into Dallas’ business community and the hotel’s surrounding Highland Park area.
