LOS ANGELES—SONIFI Solutions, Inc. has announced the launch of SoniCast powered by Chromecast to enhance the hotel room experience for guests. Chromecast is a media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port of a TV that allows guests to cast movies, TV shows, music and more from their mobile devices to the TV. SoniCast delivers the same experience guests enjoy at home from more than 1,000 Cast-enabled apps in the comfort of their hotel room. For hoteliers searching for ways to stand out in the increasingly competitive hotel market, SoniCast’s Chromecast integration provides a unique user experience.
“The mobile-centric Chromecast interaction model, combined with thousands of shows, movies and songs that people can enjoy from Cast-enabled apps, makes this an ideal match for the needs of today’s hotel guests,” said Suveer Kothari, director of business development at Google.
“Hulu wants subscribers to be able to access our content anywhere, on any device, and at the highest possible quality,” said Tim Connolly, SVP of distribution and strategic partnerships at Hulu. “Our content library uniquely meets the needs and interests of the busy traveler. We are excited about this innovative solution with SONIFI and Google and the options it provides to our subscribers.”
SoniCast’s Chromecast integration enables a simple user interaction model. Guests connect their mobile device to the hotel’s Wi-Fi network, and follow the guided instructions on the TV screen to start streaming within minutes.
“Our hospitality clients were loud and clear—they need to provide an all-encompassing home away from home experience for their guests,” said Ahmad Ouri, CEO of SONIFI Solutions. “SONIFI continues to develop and deliver innovative solutions to the hospitality market. With the launch of SoniCast and our collaboration with Google, we achieve not only scale but continued innovation for our hotel partners and their guests.”
