On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Katie Falvey has been appointed vice president of real estate at The Marcus Corporation. She joined the company in 1997 as director of real estate and marketing and property management, before becoming director of real estate in 2005. During her career, she has implemented national real estate, location, and asset strategies across the hospitality and entertainment divisions.

This week, a number of significant job changes in lodging and food and beverage were announced:

Mark Frissora has been named president and chief executive officer of Caesars Entertainment Corporation. He joined Caesars Entertainment earlier this year as president and chief executive officer designate. Previously, he worked as chairman and chief executive officer of Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. and Tenneco, Inc.

Christian Karaoglanian, who, after 40 years with AccorHotels, has left the position of chief development officer. He will act as advisor to the chairman beginning Jan. 2016.

Benchmark Hospitality International has named Kelly Gregg director of recruiting. He previously worked on a contractual basis with the company supporting human resource initiatives, and held leadership positions with companies such as The Walt Disney World Company and Loews Hotels.

Paul Devitt has joined Grand Hyatt San Francisco as area vice president and general manager. He most recently worked as general manager at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Austin, Texas.

Duetto has appointed Calvin Anderson to the newly created position of vice president, managed services. Anderson has management experience with Hilton, Marriott, and Highgate hotels.

Uniguest has named Joseph P. Morgan chief executive officer, effective July 6. He previously served as president and chief executive officer of The Standard Register Company.

Kiyokuni Ikeda has been named head chef at Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar at Pechanga Resort & Casino. He has spent the last 15 years working at sushi restaurants in Philadelphia, such as Zama and Morimoto.

The newly rebranded Cape Rey Carlsbad has appointed Clifton Carmody director of food and beverage operations. Carmody previously worked at Eat.Sleep.Drink and Brinker International, among other companies.

Vincent Lesage has been named executive chef at Bacara Resort & Spa. He most recently served as executive chef of Balboa Bay Resort.

Castle Hill Inn has promoted Lou Rossi to executive chef. He succeeds Karsten Hart, who was named director of restaurants for Newport Harbor Corporation. Rossi recently served as Castle Hill Inn’s chef de cuisine.
