On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has named Nick Gregory senior vice president of hotel operations. Gregory is a 25-year veteran of the company who began his career at Kimpton as a doorman. In his new role, Gregory will be responsible for developing and evolving operational strategies that focus on increasing profitability while maintaining Kimpton’s guest satisfaction scores.

Here is a look at more notable comings and goings that took place in hospitality this week:

Thompson Hotels has announced the appointments of Amanda Parsons as general manager and Serena McCabe as director of sales and marketing of Thompson Seattle, set to open June 2016. Parsons brings more than 15 years of experience in national hospitality operations, sales and marketing, and management to her role. McCabe joins the hotel after more than 12 years at properties in Northern California, with a specialty in boutique and independent hotels catering to leisure, business, and group travelers.

Jose Maria Aguirre has been selected as the new wine director for The Resort at Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas. With more than eight years of experience in the wine service industry, Aguirre will be responsible for overseeing all wine selections at each of the property’s establishments, including the wine cellar and Champagne Terrace.

NVN Hotels has promoted Gina Schuster to vice president of human resources. She will continue to lead the HR function for the entire portfolio, and will oversee new personnel in her new leadership role.

Marcus Hotels & Resorts has announced that Linda Gulrajani, CRME, vice president of revenue strategy and distribution, was named chair of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International’s Revenue Management Advisory Board for the 2016-2017 term. Gulrajani will oversee the development and implementation of revenue management and distribution activities and strategies for all 18 properties in the company’s portfolio, having previously served on the HSMAI Revenue Management Advisory Board in 2014 and 2015.

HVS has named Paola Orneli Bock as vice president, responsible for the HVS Bangkok office. Bock has more than a decade of experience in hospitality real estate consultancy with an expertise in hotel feasibility studies, value creation, contract negotiations, and strategic and branding analysis.

Kelly Steward has been chosen as the new general manager for the Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage. Steward joined The Ritz-Carlton in 2001 as guest services manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, and in her new role she will lead overall brand growth strategy while overseeing all hotel operations.

Quail Lodge & Golf Club has announced three new appointments to its management team. Max Schroeder has been named general manager, Craig Barkdull will serve as director of sales and marketing, and Kai Lermen will join the team as assistant general manager/clubhouse manager, effective April 1.

Atlanta-based Hotel Equities has appointed Roger A. Miller as the vice president of sales and marketing for the firm. With more than two decades of experience in multi-unit hotel sales and marketing, Miller be responsible for developing pre and post new hotel opening sales and marketing plans, rebranding and repositioning hotel sales and marketing plans and guiding new hotels from construction to opening with great ramp speed for success in their markets. He will oversee five regional directors of sales and marketing throughout the country.

Benchmark Hospitality International has announced that Jennifer Shunick will serve as director of human resources for Eaglewood Resort & Spa, a Benchmark Resort located in Itasca, Ill., within Chicago’s northwest suburbs. Shunick previously served as director of human resources for Wyndham Lisle-Chicago Hotel and Executive Meeting Center.
