On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Marcus Hotels & Resorts has announced Andrea Foster as its new senior vice president of development. The 20-year hospitality veteran will oversee marketing for the company’s hotel management capabilities and identifying and securing potential acquisition, joint venture, and third-party management opportunities. She joins the company from PKF Consulting|CBRE Hotels, where she most recently served as managing director.

Here is a look at more notable comings and goings that took place this week:

The Broadmoor has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Overgaard as sales manager for group sales at the resort’s Wilderness Experience Properties, including The Broadmoor’s Cloud Camp, Fishing Camp, The Ranch at Emerald Valley, Eagles Nest Ranch, and Riverbend Ranch. He was previously group sales manager at Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs.

Nicholas Mahood has been named recreational trails and Nordic director for the Woodstock Inn & Resort in Vermont. He most recently was the coach of the New England Juinor National Team and junior committee chair for the New England Nordic Ski Association.

Hilton Orlando has appointed Dawn Walzak director of sales and marketing. She spent 17 years with Tishman Hotel Corporation, where she was involved in the sales, marketing, and revenue strategy of the hotel and resort portfolio.

Tommie Hotels, a new micro lifestyle hotel brand from Commune Hotels & Resorts, has announced the appointment of three industry leaders to Tommie Hudson Square’s management team. Javier Egipciaco has been named general manager. He has previously held management positions with The GEM Hotel Group in Manhattan and The Stanhope Park Hyatt New York. Rosa Gutierrez has been appointed director of sales and marketing. She brings 20 years of international experience to the role, and most recently was director of sales and marketing for Hyatt Union Square New York. Finally, Jason Enany has been named director of food, beverage, and entertainment. He joins the team from EMM Group, where he was director of operations.

Mainsail Lodging & Development has promoted Tom Haines and Brandon Marshall to regional director of operations and corporate director of sales. Both are managers of Mainsail’s Epicurean Hotel in Tampa, Fla.

Frank Manchen is the new director of sales and marketing for Hilton San Francisco Union Square and Parc 55 San Francisco. Most recently, he worked as director of sales and marketing at San Francisco Marriott Marquis.

Noble House Hotels & Resorts has named M. Scott Thomas club director of LaPlaya Beach & Golf Club at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort. With 25 years of experience, his professional history includes working as food and beverage director at Stratton Mountain Resort and Country Club in Vermont.

Gerard Forster has been appointed senior vice president, chief information officer for Aimbridge Hospitality. Prior to joining Aimbridge, he was a founding partner and vice president of information technology at Evolution Hospitality.

Hotel Equities has named Lee Smith the general manager for Hyatt Place Savannah Airport. He previously worked as general manager of SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Savannah.
