On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) announced that Rosanna Maietta has been named president of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AHLEF). Maietta, who has served as interim president of the foundation since May of last year, currently serves as senior vice president of communications and marketing. As AHLEF president, Maietta will lead the foundation and its team to advance its mission of ensuring a strong and viable future for the entire lodging industry by fueling the talent pipeline.

More of this week’s notable hospitality comings and goings:

Hilton named Martin Rinck as global head of its luxury and lifestyle group. Rinck will be responsible for strategic development, brand innovation, and leadership initiatives, along with overseeing the company’s latest lifestyle brand, Canopy by Hilton.

Salamander Hotels & Resorts added Tracey Slavonia as its chief sales and marketing officer. Slavonia is responsible for overseeing strategic sales, marketing, and revenue management initiatives for the Salamander’s portfolio. The management company also appointed David Mars as general manager of The Henderson, a Salamander Beach & Spa Resort. Mars brings more than two decades of hospitality experience to this position.

The National Conference Center promoted Todd Goldian from executive chef to director of food and beverage. As executive chef, Goldian lead and mentored the culinary staff and focused on providing the property with locally-grown food.

Patty Martinez will serve as regional director of operations for Vision Hospitality Group. She will oversee Vision’s greater Nashville and Midwestern hotels. Vision Hospitality Group also appointed Kremena Matzelle as regional director of revenue management. Matzelle will find opportunities, implement revenue management procedures and best practices, and ensure operational standards.

Frampton Construction Company will bring on Brandon Denney, as assistant preconstruction manager, and Hailey S. Gilbert, as administration assistant, to its Charleston office.

Dream Hotel Group appointed Ryan Walker as vice president of e-commerce & digital strategy. He will be responsible for managing all online sales and marketing initiatives, and will oversee the development of e-commerce initiatives. Kathryn Barrett returns to Dream Hotel Group as vice president of revenue management. Her position will involve integrating new technologies and synergies between revenue, analysis, sales, and distribution to drive profitability.

Catherine McAuley will become the new director of sales & marketing for The Westin Prince, Toronto. She has 25 years of experience working with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and will lead The Westin’s sales, catering, and event management team.

Sonesta Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square, part of Sonesta Hotels International, added Bob Cosgrove as the new general manager. He has served as a general manager for over 20 years with various brands.

Alvin Wong will join Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa as the new director of sales and marketing. Before this position, Wong served as director of sales and marketing for Wailea Beach Resort, Marriot-Maui.

Timber Cove added Joseph Kirtley as general manager of the Sonoma coast resort. In his new role he will oversee day-to-day operations, lead partnership development and relations, and create new opportunities for guest experience.
