Home2 Suites, Homewood Announce Travel MANager Program

Challenging the statistic that women plan travel trips more than men, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton recently announced their new program, “Travel MANager,” with the goal to motivate men to take over travel planning for their family and loved ones.

“Sixty percent of the family travel planning is done by women in the family, and most of the hospitality industries target women with advertising,” says Adrian Kurre, global head of Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton. “We thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be wonderful if men stepped up to the plate and took some of the pressure off of our loved ones and did some travel planning?’”

Travel MANager’s online hub, mencanplantravel.com, will offer original research, trip itinerary suggestions, and professional advice on one easy web platform.

“There are three distinct men travel planning audiences that we looked at,” Kurre explains. “There are men planning travel for the family, men planning travel for them and their kids, and men planning a surprise for their significant other. The people I’m working with have insights on how to make booking as easy as possible for all three types.”

Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites have gathered a collection of leading dad bloggers and notable fathers led by U.S. Army veteran, Dancing with the Stars alum and current American Grit mentor Noah Galloway, among other male bloggers.

“The bloggers were specifically selected based on a variety of criteria,” says Shawn Warmstein for Hilton Worldwide. “We wanted to have geographic and lifestyle diversity. While they are dads and male bloggers, they all do have a little bit of a different niche per se.”

Adds Kurre, “We’re just getting started, but I can tell we’re going to have a lot of fun with this process.”
