Hilton San Diego/Del Mar Announces New GM and Executive Chef

DEL MAR, Calif.– The Hilton San Diego/Del Mar hotel is pleased to announce two new leadership positions for the California coastal hotel, naming Amanda Hawkins-Vogel as General Manager and Joshua Grimes as Executive Chef of CoastalKITCHEN, the Hilton’s in-house restaurant serving farm and sea fare.

Hawkins-Vogel is currently employed by the Hilton Del Mar’s management company, Sage Hospitality, one of the top hotel investment and management companies in the United States, based in Denver, Colorado. She will be relocating from across the country from Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she’s led as General Manager of the il Lugano hotel. In her new location in Del Mar, Hawkins-Vogel will continue to work with Sage and the Hilton brand to deliver the best guest experience and drive positive results and returns for the hotel.

Grimes is a native Californian who was raised in San Diego. Recently he acted as Sous Chef for Vintana Island –Prime with the Cohn Restaurant Group and led one of their latest ventures. Hotel food and beverage experience includes the Hilton Torrey Pines and DoubleTree by Hilton in Mission Valley. In the Executive Chef role at CoastalKITCHEN, Grimes will be responsible for creating a new and fresh menu, managing staff and creating an amazing experience for visitors and hotel guests alike.

The Hilton San Diego/Del Mar hotel recently completed a complete renovation, is one mile from the beach and 20 minutes from downtown San Diego. The hotel has 257 oversized guest rooms and 17,000 sq. ft. of meeting space with gracious amenities. Rooms offer private patios and the hotel has two outdoor whirlpools and a heated pool. Inside the Hilton is CoastalKITCHEN, which offers a hyper seasonal menu featuring local farm and sea cuisine with an extensive wine list.
