“Our hotel’s commitment to the mission of Four Seasons to find a cure for cancer is shown each year by the dedication and hard work of our staff members who help make Drive Fore the Cure a success. We are also extremely grateful to have the support of our corporate sponsors, individual golfers and donors who allow us to continue to provide much needed funds to Washington Cancer Institute,” says Dirk Burghartz, Four Seasons Hotel Washington General Manager.

This year, MedStar Washington Hospital Center was ranked by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the 100 Great Hospitals in America. The District of Columbia has one of the highest cancer mortality rates in the United States and in 2013 the Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center was able to treat 440,470 patients who suffer from cancer thanks in large part to the money raised by the annual golf tournament and 5k race.

“Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC has been an outstanding partner with MedStar Washington Hospital Center and the Washington Cancer Institute over many years. The recent 2014 Drive Fore the Cure golf tournament is the latest example of Four Seasons philanthropic efforts – and the fundraising results from this June’s event are truly extraordinary. Their contributions have significantly enhanced the Washington Cancer Institute’s ability to conduct cancer research to make potentially groundbreaking new drugs available through clinical trials to our patients. We remain deeply appreciative for the work and the partnership with Four Seasons,” says Dr. Sandra Swain, Medical Director of the Washington Cancer Institute.

This annual event is near and dear to the hearts of all Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC employees and owes its success to all of the generous donors.
