Four Seasons D.C. Raises Money For Cancer Institute

Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC hosted its 14th annual Drive Fore the Cure Golf Classic at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm on June 23 to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Welcomed with swag bags, 129 golfers arrived to the 18-hole championship golf course that challenges novices and experts alike.Players enjoyed beverages sponsored by Beam Suntory and made-to-order cookout food throughout the day.The tournament concluded with a cocktail reception, awards ceremony, live entertainment and a silent auction with items ranging from luxury hotel stays to shopping certificates. The winning foursome was awarded two round-trip tickets for each player on Qatar Airways along with a two-night stay at their choice of either Four SeasonsHotel Singapore or Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok.

Four Seasons raised $172,000 for the Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center thanks to the generous donors and golfers who participated in a day of friendly competition.

This year, MedStar Washington Hospital Center was ranked by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the 100 Great Hospitals in America. The District of Columbia has one of the highest cancer mortality rates in the United States and in 2013 the Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center was able to treat 440,470 patients who suffer from cancer thanks in large part to the money raised by the annual golf tournament and 5k race.
