First Hospitality Appoints Jason Kreul to COO

First Hospitality announced the appointment of Jason Kreul as chief operating officer. Kreul brings nearly 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including leadership positions in operations plus expertise in full-service, lifestyle, and independent properties.  

Kreul will report to David Duncan, president and CEO, and will lead the operations, commercial strategy, and the people and talent groups at First Hospitality and play a role in further expanding the company’s hotel portfolio.  

“Jason’s leadership and broad expertise across full-service, lifestyle, and premium select-service will play an integral part in further accelerating the growth of our hotel and restaurant and bar portfolio,” said David Duncan, president and CEO of First Hospitality. “Jason’s focus will be on operational excellence across our portfolio and be a key partner to our ownership relationships. His experience and approach will continue to emphasize a thriving and collaborative workplace culture while delivering superior results.” 

Before joining First Hospitality, Kreul served in executive roles at Highgate, most recently as president – central United States and West Coast divisions. Before that, Jason held leadership roles at White Lodging Services and Winegardner & Hammons. Kreul serves in advisory and board roles for hotel brands and industry organizations.

Kreul graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management Business. He lives in Valparaiso, Indiana, with his wife Amy, and five kids. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, working on DIY projects, and participating in health and wellness activities.
