ATLANTA—Hotel Indigo, IHG’s (InterContinental Hotels Group) upscale boutique brand, continues to expand in top-tier U.S. markets, with plans for a hotel in the Chicago suburb of Naperville. The hotel, planned on the Naperville Riverwalk is expected to be a significant anchor for the mixed-use retail, restaurant, and office development on the south end of Naperville’s central business district. This is the second Hotel Indigo signing in the Chicago market this year, with a hotel expected to open in the Millennium Park area in late 2014.
Slated to open in 2015, the hotel will be located in the Water Street District, a vibrant neighborhood with a variety of restaurants and shops. A large public and private parking facility with more than 500 spaces will be adjacent to the hotel, providing parking for the Water Street district and additional downtown visitor parking.
“The signing of our fourth hotel in the Chicago market is an example of our successful growth strategy to focus on high demand locations in major markets,” said Mary Winslow, director, brand management, Hotel Indigo, the Americas, IHG. “The growth of the Hotel Indigo brand in top-tier cities across the U.S. proves that guests value the boutique, local neighborhood experience that our hotels provide.”
The Hotel Indigo Naperville hotel will have 160 rooms, including Riverfront King Suites and Honeymoon Suites. The second floor lobby will feature a great room with fireplace, a bistro-style dining area, and a wine bar. The hotel will offer a fitness center, banquet accommodations, three meeting rooms that can accommodate from 15 to 60 people, and a rooftop restaurant that overlooks the river.
“We are very happy to be a part of IHG and the Hotel Indigo brand,” said Nick Ryan, managing director, Marquette Companies. “The brand’s emphasis on reflecting its local neighborhood combined with IHG’s global strength ensures that our hotel will deliver a unique boutique hotel experience while having the amenities guests expect from one of the world’s leading hotel groups.”
Marquette Companies plans to involve the Naperville Heritage Society in bringing the area’s history and culture to life within the hotel space via unique interior designs and signature murals. The Hotel Indigo Naperville hotel, owned by Marquette Companies LLC, will be managed by IHG.
