SAN FRANCISCO—General Manager Clif Clark of the San Francisco Marriott Airport Waterfront drove a truckload of pumpkins, each weighing between 5 to 100 pounds, to the San Francisco Zoo for animals to enjoy as a seasonal treat. Lions, giraffes, and grizzly bears are just a few of the species to feast on the pumpkins.
When the hotel’s festive holiday decorations went up, pumpkins–the former stars of the fall display–went straight to the San Francisco Zoo in an effort to reduce waste and feed the two- and four-legged local community.
The San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront has received World Wildlife Association and Trip Advisor Green Leader Silver awards and implements green practices throughout its operations.
