USA TODAY recently released its 2018 list for the 10 best hotel loyalty programs. To determine the winners of this year’s USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, a panel of industry experts nominated loyalty programs, including editors from USA TODAY and 10Best.com, as well as other expert contributors. USA TODAY readers had four weeks to vote online for their favorite program.
Wyndham Rewards, which spans more than 25,000 hotels, vacation club resorts, and vacation rentals globally, has been named this year’s best hotel loyalty program. The award marks a total of nearly 70 accolades for the program in a little more than three years, including for its co-branded credit card, the Wyndham Rewards Visa Card, which was named Best Co-Brand Credit Card in both 2016 and 2017.
“This latest award is a testament to the work we’ve done creating a simple and generous guest rewards program that truly works for the everyday traveler,” said Eliot Hamlisch, vice president of worldwide loyalty and partnerships at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “We’re incredibly grateful to the more than 59 million enrolled Wyndham Rewards members who helped make this happen and remain committed now, more than ever, to our mission of making hotel travel possible for all.”
Wyndham Rewards is the only hotel rewards program to offer members a flat-redemption rate of 15,000 points per room, per night at any of its redemption offerings around the world. Members earn 1,000 points with every qualified stay and, through four different member levels, can unlock additional perks, like late check-out and a preferred room, after as few as five nights.
Choice Hotels’ Choice Privileges loyalty program came in second for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, earning high honors for the third consecutive year. The program has also received recent recognition from U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Hotel Rewards Programs.
“At Choice Hotels, our goal is to help loyalty members get the most out of their travel experience, whether it’s for business or leisure, by delivering quality, relevant perks seamlessly,” said Jamie Russo, vice president, loyalty programs and customer engagement, Choice Hotels. “We’re proud to be recognized once again by readers of USA TODAY as one of the best hotel loyalty programs. The honor, which comes on the heels of surpassing our 39-million-member mark, proves how much customers value Choice Privileges.”
Choice Privileges members benefit from a variety of rewards and perks, including exclusive member rates when booking direct; points toward free stays starting at 6,000 per night as well as gift cars and more with each direct booking; rewards at check-in during mid-week stays through Your Extras, a program that delivers airline miles, fuel rewards, or coffee gift cards; an exclusive partnership and elite member benefits with car rental provider Avis; and seasonal promotions throughout the year.
