DALLAS, Texas—Remington Hospitality welcomed Rick Badgley as chief human resources officer. Badgley, who brings over 20 years of industry experience, will support all aspects of human resources, including recruitment and retention; learning and development, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Badgley started in hospitality as a dishwasher at his parent’s restaurant when he was 13. As chief human resources officer, Badgley will oversee efforts to attract, retain, and develop a guest-centric team to continue company growth. He will also ensure that the company’s culture, mission, and values are embedded throughout the organization.
“From being a dishwasher at my parent’s restaurant or running a ski resort, hospitality has been at the forefront of my career,” said Badgley. “I am passionate about creating an environment where associates and guests feel welcome, honored, and respected and I am truly honored to be joining such a special company that values just that. Having the opportunity to help shape the future of this dynamic organization is humbling.”
Badgley joins Remington from Brinker International where he served as executive vice president and was responsible for overseeing human resources for the 70,000-person company, communications, shared services, and international restaurant development and operations. He also held senior leadership roles at companies such as TOMS and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Badgley also held a leadership role at Starbucks, where he was responsible for the hiring and career development of over 75,000 partners and the launch of the Starbucks College Achievement Plan. Badgley attended Johnson & Wales University and serves on the advisory council for the School of Hospitality.
