Radisson Opens Barbados Resort

BARBADOS—Radisson has announced the opening of the Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados, set on Carlisle Bay. The beachfront resort, which recently completed an $8 million renovation, offers 124-rooms including five pier suites and one presidential suite. The property is located in a marine reserve and features a historic Victorian Pier that is 200 feet long and recently declared a United Nations World Heritage site.

“The opening of this hotel, reinforces our commitment to adding resorts to our portfolio and to further expand our presence in the Caribbean portfolio,” stated Javier Rosenberg, chief operating officer, Radisson, and executive vice president, owned and managed hotels, Americas. “This marks Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s 16th hotel in the Caribbean and is part of the group’s Ambition 2015 strategy to position Radisson in the Americas as a powerful, globally consistent, first-class brand.”

With nearly 2 miles of white sand beach, this four-star beachfront resort caters to leisure and business travelers. The guestrooms feature contemporary Caribbean furnishings, with mother of pearl and mosaic features, a West Indian color palette and clean lines, a private balcony or terrace, and island or ocean views.

The resort also offers an on-site beachfront fitness center, an outdoor kids and adult swimming pool, meeting space to accommodate up to 400 people and an authentic Caribbean restaurant and bar, situated directly over the ocean waters.
