On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Jonathan M. Tisch will resume the duties of CEO of Loews Hotels following the departure of Kirk Kinsell, effective immediately. Kinsell informed the company of his decision to resign for personal reasons. Tisch will continue to serve as chairman of Loews Hotels and co-chairman of the Board for Loews Corporation.

Here is a look at other notable comings and goings that took place this week:

Rosewood Hotel Group has announced the appointment of two senior development executives. Hicham Hassouni has been appointed vice president—development, Middle East, and Robby Qio will serve as vice president—development, China. Hassouni will be stationed in Dubai, and Qiu in the Shanghai office. They will be responsible for securing new properties for the company’s three brands.

Main Street Hospitality Group announced the appointment of Norma Probst as the new director of marketing at Main Street Hospitality Group. Most recently, she served as director of marketing and sales at the 105-room Cranwell Spa and Golf Resort, where she was responsible for overseeing all marketing, digital, and sales initiatives.

Island Hotel Newport Beach has named seasoned hotel executive Ron Sandvig as director of travel sales. In his new position, Sandvig will concentrate on working with the hotel’s top travel partners while continuing to build lasting client relationships to bolster market share and drive revenue streams.

Hotel Crescent Court has announced that Jennifer Kukulski will serve as sales manager for the Lone Star landmark. In this role, Kukulski will implement sales strategy plans and business development goals, while using customer focus to maximize revenue for the property.

Deborah E. Smith has been named regional director of sales at GF management in Philadelphia. Smith will oversee the sales performance of a portfolio of full-service hotels and catering facilities, focused primarily in the Philadelphia, Baltimore, New Jersey, and Delaware areas.

Hospitality Management Corporation is pleased to announce the hiring of Gary Hattendorf as general manager of the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Anaheim, Calif. Prior to joining HMC, Hattendorf held positions throughout Southern California as the vice president of sales and revenue for Fine Hospitality Group in Brea, general manager of the Hilton Homewood Suites Anaheim, and general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn in San Mateo, as well as positions with InterContinental Hotel Groups, Radisson, and Extended Stay Hotel brands.

UNICO Hotel Riviera Maya has appointed Christian Bravo executive chef of Cueva Siete—the property’s first rotating chef restaurant concept—that will pay homage to regional Yucatan dishes.

Howard Hospitality Group, an international hotel investor, developer, and operator, has announced the official opening of its new Grand Cayman office. Joining the team in Grand Cayman, effective immediately, are: James Stephen, director of sales and marketing; Fiona Leslie, hotel manager; Marco Mauthner, food and beverage director; Carlos Contreras, executive chef.
