IRVINE, Calif.—Marina del Rey Hotel has reopened after a $25 million renovation. Originally opened in 1964, the historic hotel debuts as the Marina celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The waterfront property features 164 updated rooms and suites, a full-service restaurant named Salt, 24-hour room service, concierge assistance, an outdoor, marina-facing pool and sundeck, a waterfront wedding venue, multiple meeting spaces, boat slips, and other four-star amenities.
“We are proud to re-open the doors of this hotel that has served as a destination in the marina for more than half a century,” said Matt Marquis, president of Pacifica Hotels. “We’ve put a great deal of thought and resources into the Marina del Rey Hotel to make it the preeminent hotel choice in Los Angeles. We’ve made significant investments in the Marina across several hotels and know this will only serve to elevate the area’s hospitality landscape.”
Marina del Rey Hotel’s guestrooms reflect the California calm character of the property’s surrounding area, with cool colors and maritime touches that complement the azure Marina exterior. Rooms feature 55-inch LED HDTVs, high-thread Egyptian cotton linens, Molton Brown bath amenities, Keurig coffee machines, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Salt, the hotel’s on-the-water, indoor-outdoor restaurant, features seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmer’s markets. Executive Chef Mark Gold serves contemporary favorites with a seasonal twist while master mixologists serve up craft cocktails. A selection of craft beers, as well as California and international wines are also available. A bar menu to accompany the beverages includes bite-sized nibbles. A poolside, kids, and 24-hour room service menu are also available.
The hotel offers 9,700 total square feet of event space with views of the Marina and main channels, including a new 3,500-square-foot waterfront event lawn has been added to the property grounds.
The hotel is one of five Pacifica hotels in the half-mile radius of Marina del Rey: Jamaica Bay Inn, Hilton Garden Inn Marina del Rey, Inn at Marina del Rey, and Inn at Venice Beach.
