TELLURIDE, Colo.—Madeline Hotel and Residences has announced two recent appointments to the hotel’s staff. The property, now managed by Northview Hotel Group, has announced the appointment of Duncan Hogarth as general manager and Amanda Hess as director of residence services.
“By appointing Duncan and Amanda into these key roles, the property is continuing to reinforce a core goal of enhancing the employee and guest experience,” says Scott Pickert, senior vice president with Northview Hotel Group. “Their passion for the hospitality industry and engaging with the local community, along with the support of their on-site teams will be a perfect fit here in Telluride.”
With more than 20 years of experience at luxury hotel and resort properties around the world, Hogarth will oversee all operations. Hogarth steps into the role of general manager after serving as managing director of Rosewood Little Dix Bay, a 500-acre property in the British Virgin Islands.
Prior to joining Rosewood Little Dix Bay, Hogarth spent over 14 years with Orient Express Hotels. His previous work includes La Samanna on St. Martin, where Hogarth was director of operations. He also worked in operations at Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. Hogarth got his start in hospitality with the Savoy Group in London, with seven years of tenure.
Hess is now in charge of Madeline’s residence management program, which includes developing and maintaining close relationships with the residence owners and working to deliver experiences reflective of the four-Diamond-rated address. With 71 residences with Madeline, Hess will play a key role in the development and coordination of the residence owners experience and the rental management program.
Hess joined Madeline Hotel and Residences from St. Regis Deer Valley, where as residential services manager for the past two years, she served as the liaison between the hotel staff and residential owners while managing all residential services programs. Hess began her hotel career as Owner Relations Manager of Hard Rock Hotel San Diego where, among other things, she developed a VIP loyalty program for frequent guests.
