NEW YORK, N.Y.—LodgeWorks Partners L.P. has named Bob Mannon vice president of development. The privately-held hotel development and management company is in expansion mode and Mannon has been tapped to lead the charge. This comes on the heels of two New York hotel openings in six weeks for LodgeWorks with the highly anticipated launch of Archer Hotel New York, followed by Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown.
Mannon brings nearly 30 years of expertise to the table, with two-thirds of his career having been spent in the hospitality industry with Marriott International, most recently as senior vice president, North America corporate development. He produced full-service and limited-service hotels for Marriott throughout the United States from 1994 to 2008. He also led Marriott’s eastern region limited-service franchise team that secured approvals for over 500 Marriott franchised and managed hotels. Recently Mannon has acted as a hospitality development consultant completing the development of several major brand hotel properties.
In his new role Mannon will oversee all areas of development including market analysis, property selection, land use matters, financial analysis, contract negotiations, estimating, and finance structure.
The depth of experience, from mixed-use to urban adaptive reuse with historic tax credits, LEED certified hotels and resorts, and more, will be a tremendous asset to the LodgeWorks team as they build the pipeline of hotels in its portfolio. Currently they are building a Hyatt Place in Yonkers, N.Y., and planning to break ground on two new additions to the Archer collection in Austin and Napa later this year.
“We are extremely excited to have Bob join our group,” explains Don Marvin, EVP development and construction for LodgeWorks. “To have someone with his breadth of knowledge and experience in the hotel development area is a major benefit to us.”
