CHICAGO—As the first Hyatt Place hotel in China prepares to open in May, Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced several new Hyatt Place and Hyatt House projects that will introduce these two Hyatt brands to China.
“With the introduction of the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands, we are bringing exciting fresh options to our guests and delivering on our commitment to create a more diversified hospitality industry and become the most preferred hospitality brand in China,” said Mr. Nong Xia, senior vice president of real estate and development for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. “This will further expand Hyatt’s portfolio in this market, helping maintain healthy, strong growth for the Hyatt brands in China.”
In May, China is expected to welcome its first Hyatt Place hotel, Hyatt Place Shenzhen, Dongmen, located in the heart of Shenzhen, a southern city bordering Hong Kong. The hotel will also be the first Hyatt Place branded hotel in the Asia Pacific region, marking an important step for Hyatt in the worldwide expansion of the Hyatt Place brand.
With the introduction of Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels, six of Hyatt’s nine brands are expected to be represented in China by 2015. More than 20 Hyatt Place and Hyatt House projects are under development in China.
