IRVING, Texas—FelCor Lodging Trust has announced the opening of The Knickerbocker Hotel, located on the corner of 42nd Street and Broadway in New York City, in the heart of Times Square. The newly redeveloped hotel has 330 guest rooms, including 27 Junior Suites and four Tribute Suites, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a 2,200 square-foot event space, upscale food and dining options, and a 7,500 square-foot rooftop bar and terrace with views of New York City’s skyline. A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, The Knickerbocker offers proximity to countless New York City attractions such as Madison Square Garden, Rockefeller Center, Broadway theaters, and Bryant Park.
“We are thrilled about the opening of our flagship property,” said Richard A. Smith, president and chief executive officer of FelCor. “The Knickerbocker underscores our commitment to investing in great hotels located in great markets, at attractive prices that will enhance value for our stockholders. Our partnership with Highgate enabled us to use our joint expertise to redevelop this phenomenal property at a significant discount to replacement cost.”
Designed by the architectural firm Gabellini Sheppard, the Hotel’s interior features a sleek, contemporary, urban appeal. All accommodations feature customized layouts with soaring 12-foot ceilings, 8-foot doors and 6-foot windows.
The Knickerbocker has partnered with Chef Charlie Palmer to debut several dining venues. Guests have the option to dine at Charlie Palmer at The Knick — the hotel’s full service restaurant and bar; JAKES @ The Knick — a coffeehouse and artisan café; and St. Cloud — a rooftop bar complete with a signature cigar lounge from tobacconist Nat Sherman. In addition, priority access will be offered to hotel guests at Palmer’s flagship restaurant Aureole, located just across the street from The Knickerbocker.
