HONOLULU—Castle Resorts & Hotels has appointed Erland Odd as vice president of eCommerce and digital strategy. In his new position, Odd will be responsible for managing all online sales and marketing initiatives for company branded websites, online and search marketing partners, and electronic marketing distribution channels. He will also oversee the strategic development and management of eCommerce initiatives for Castle Resorts & Hotels and its portfolio of 22 properties across the Hawaiian Islands and New Zealand.
“Erland joins Castle with extensive and proven online marketing and development experience in the hospitality space,” said president and COO Alan Mattson. “His background in eCommerce development and optimization, as well as his experience in information systems and booking engine technologies, makes him a perfect fit for Castle and an exciting addition to our management team.”
Odd has over 15 years of experience in Hawaii’s hospitality industry, specializing in eCommerce strategy and online marketing initiatives. Prior to joining Castle, he served as the senior director of eCommerce at Aston Hotels & Resorts and Aqua Hospitality. He was responsible for all eCommerce initiatives for their collection of resorts in Hawaii and on the mainland. Prior to Aston and Aqua, he was the senior director of eBusiness for The Resort Group, which includes the Ko Olina Resort Association entities of Disney Aulani, Ko Olina Ihilani Marriott, Marriott Beach Club, Ko Olina Beach Villas, Ko Olina Marina, and Ko Olina Golf Course.
Odd also spent seven years as senior director of eCommerce and product management at Get2Hawaii, Inc., and served an instrumental role in the software development and launch of booking engine services and solutions for travel industry partners such as Hawaiian Airlines, Aloha Airlines, Panda Travel, and American Tours International.
