Four New Sonesta Simply Suites Locations Open

NEWTON, Massachusetts—Sonesta International Hotels Corporation announced the grand openings of four new Sonesta Simply Suites locations:

  • Sonesta Simply Suites Lafayette | 104-room hotel located in Louisiana.
  • Sonesta Simply Suites Memphis | 72-room hotel located in Tennessee.
  • Sonesta Simply Suites Stafford | 82-room hotel located in Texas.
  • Sonesta Simply Suites Lansing | 122-room hotel located in Illinois.

“The addition of four new Sonesta Simply Suites hotels in four new destinations underscores the demand for extended stay hotel options,” said Keith Pierce, EVP and president franchise and development, Sonesta. “With these hotels, Sonesta has opened over 20 hotels this year. These four conversions demonstrate how our fast, friendly, and flexible approach to franchise and development continues to resonate with owners.”

The four new Sonesta Simply Suites are opening at a time when the extended-stay category is growing faster than the broader hospitality market. According to a mid-year 2023 report by hospitality industry consulting firm The Highland Group, extended-stay hotels saw a 3.2 percent increase in RevPAR in Q2 year over year compared to a 2.7 percent increase in RevPAR for the overall industry. Extended-stay occupancy rates stand 11 percent above a comparison to all hotels for the same time period according to STR.

Sonesta now offers over 65 locations to experience Sonesta Simply Suites and its approach to extended stay. Guests of these locations can earn or redeem points in the Sonesta Travel Pass loyalty program.
