On Oct. 22, Marcus Hotels & Resorts announced two executive appointments. Tom Mason has been promoted to senior vice president of operations, while Steve Magnuson has returned as managing director of the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa and Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark in Lake Geneva, Wis. Mason joined the company in 2014, most recently serving as area vice president of Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. Magnuson began his career with Marcus in 1994, and departed in 2014 to join Kalahari Resorts as vice president and managing director.

Mark Pardue has been named area vice president luxury and lifestyle brands and general manager of Park Hyatt New York, the flagship hotel of the Park Hyatt brand. He has spent 27 years of his career with Hyatt, holding leadership positions at 10 Hyatt locations across nine cities.
Michael Hoffman has been named managing director of the Waldorf Astoria New York and Towers of the Waldorf Astoria. He brings more than 30 years of luxury hotel experience to the property, and first joined Hilton Worldwide in 2005.
Benjamin Sims has joined The Embassy Row Hotel in Washington, D.C., as director of human resources. He previously worked with hotel groups such as Noble House Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Hotels Worldwide.
Kimpton’s Canary Santa Barbara has added Peggy White to its team as senior sales manager. She comes to the hotel from Loews Hollywood Hotel, where she served as a national sales manager.
Catherine Hutchison has been appointed director of sales and marketing for Montage Kapalua Bay in Hawaii. She is a Montage veteran who recently worked as director of travel industry sales at Montage Deer Valley in Park City, Utah.
The Axiom Hotel, opening this winter, has appointed Patty Kang director of sales and marketing. She most recently oversaw all marketing and rebranding efforts as marketing manager for the Claremont Hotel Club & Spa in Berkeley, Calif.
The Peninsula Tokyo has appointed Sonja Vodusek general manager effective Dec. 15. She has held executive management positions in the luxury hospitality sector at Four Seasons in the United States, Japan, Ireland, Australia, and the Czech Republic, and currently serves as the general manager of the Peninsula Manila.
Omni Hotels & Resorts has appointed David Chase the new managing director of Omni Berkshire Place. He most recently worked as general manager of the New York Palace for four years, where he oversaw a $146 million renovation.
