AUBURN, ALA. (July 9, 2014) – The Hotel at Auburn University is pleased to name Todd Scholl as the new director of sales and marketing. He brings with him nearly 15 years of extensive sales experience from nationally renowned hospitality brands and destination marketing organizations. In his new role, Scholl will oversee the sales, catering and social media team as well as help create new promotions and events for the hotel. He will also teach sales and marketing courses in the prestigious Auburn University Hotel and Restaurant Management program as well as work closely with the class that organizes the annual Hospitality Gala – the highest single-night, yearly fundraiser in Auburn that generates on average $250,000 to benefit the Hospitality Management Program.

Prior to joining The Hotel at Auburn University, Scholl served as the director of sales and marketing for the Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. He was also the director of the sales and marketing departments for the Elms Hotel & Spa in Excelsior Springs, Missouri and the Hyatt Regency Tulsa, the largest hotel in Oklahoma. Scholl also spent seven years working with The Peabody Hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas as the director of sales and marketing. During his tenure in Little Rock, he oversaw all sales, catering, reservations, public relations and marketing staff, driving more than $26 million in hotel revenue annually and eventually achieving the Forbes Four-Star designation.
Scholl received his bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Iowa and brings a diverse background in hospitality, sales, marketing and management to the Hotel at Auburn University.
