Ted Gibson - StandingNEW YORK, NY – The Knickerbocker Hotel, opening Fall 2014, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Ted Gibson, founder of Ted Gibson Salons and acclaimed celebrity and fashion stylist. Named Style Curator for the iconic New York hotel, Gibson will take on a truly unique responsibility providing exclusive amenities and style services for hotel guests, while simultaneously crafting and implementing an overarching visual aesthetic for The Knickerbocker staff – from head to toe.

“Ted’s talent, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit have earned him a reputation as one of the most sought after stylists in the industry. In addition to his regular clientele, which includes the likes of Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway and Lupita Nyong’o, he has a major presence with top fashion designers and photographers,” said Jeff David, Managing Director of The Knickerbocker. “The Knickerbocker marks Ted’s first hotel collaboration, and we are absolutely thrilled to work hand-in-hand to create a refined style and spirit that is uniquely Knickerbocker.”

Through the property’s concierge, visitors will have the exclusive ability to book in-room signature salon services including hair care, styling services and make-up application.

In addition, The Knickerbocker has the distinction of being the first and only hotel to feature complimentary Ted Gibson bath amenities in-room. Each guestroom will be supplied with salon quality products including Ted Gibson shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. Beyond bath amenities, guests can complete their look by purchasing Ted Gibson color cosmetics through an in-room Beauty Bar menu, offering a curated selection of high pigment lipsticks and lip glosses, eye shadow palettes, mascaras and eyeliners.

As Style Curator for The Knickerbocker, Gibson’s role extends far beyond routine guest programming through the creation of a truly unique and fitting Knickerbocker Style. Providing front-of-house staff with hair, make-up and styling guidelines, as well as style consultations on the design and fit of staff uniforms, Gibson will implement The Knickerbocker Style Guide to complement and enhance the hotel’s contemporary aesthetic. Developing a comprehensive head-to-toe look, Gibson will ensure an expertly styled experience for both The Knickerbocker guests and staff alike.

“This unique collaboration, the first of its kind, is the result of our shared passion to set a new standard in hospitality and beyond,” said Gibson. “The Knickerbocker will evoke a cutting-edge urban sophistication, juxtaposed with the rich history and legacy of this remarkable Beaux Arts landmark. It is an honor to be working with such an iconic New York property that has witnessed over 100 years of history.”
