David Kirken has been appointed managing director of Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, an inspired southern California destination for wellness travel, family escapes, world-class golf, spa and culinary adventures. Kirken is a respected industry veteran with over 18 years of experience in luxury hospitality management. He brings a unique perspective and affiliation to Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, having worked at the resort bell stand as a teen and is tasked with leading day-to-day operations of California’s premier resort for mind, body and sport.

Most recently, Kirken served as general manager of the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, Arizona. There, he played an integral role in the development and management of a renovation that touched every part of the iconic hotel. He also carved a significant niche in the local business community, serving on the boards of the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and Arizona Lodging Association.
Prior to joining the Arizona Biltmore, Kirken spent three years at La Quinta Resort & Club, where throughout his tenure he advanced from director of operations, to interim managing director and finally to resort manager. While there, he was recognized as “2010 Outstanding Hotel Manager of the Year” by the California Hotel & Lodging Association.
Earlier in his career, Kirken held a variety of executive positions with The Riz-Carlton Hotel Company at domestic and international properties including The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, The Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas, The Ritz-Carlton Osaka, Japan, and The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. Previous to The Ritz-Carlton, he held management positions with Loews Hotels & Resorts.
