New GM at Eden Roc Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH, Fla.—Destination Hotels & Resorts has appointed Shawn Gracey as area managing director of Eden Roc Miami Beach, the iconic oceanfront resort located on Collins Avenue in Miami. Gracey brings over 26 years of experience in the hotel industry to the team, having held a number of senior positions throughout his career. He has been with Destination Hotels & Resorts for six years, most recently in Houston, Texas, where he held the role of general manager at Hotel Derek.

“Shawn was selected as area managing director due to his extensive experience in the hospitality industry as well as his customer driven focus on iconic properties,” said Kevin Regan, senior vice president of Destination Hotels & Resorts’ Eastern region. “We are thrilled to have Shawn join our executive team where he will utilize his expertise and distinctive management skills to enhance Eden Roc’s performance and elevate its existing reputation.”

Gracey will oversee all daily operations at the resort as well as play an instrumental role in property development, business growth and the hiring of key positions within the resort’s executive team. His background includes roles as general manager at a wide range of luxury hotels throughout California and Texas including Shorebreak Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Hospitality property located in Huntington Beach, Calif.; The Graciela Burbank Hotel (now Hotel Amarano) located in Burbank, Calif.; Le Merigot, a JW Marriott Hotel & Spa located in Santa Monica, Calif.; Hotel ICON located in Houston, Texas; and most recently, Hotel Derek located in Houston, Texas. In addition, Shawn oversaw a two-year multimillion dollar renovation of Destination Hotels & Resorts’ Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, N.C.
