Rockville, Md.—The Crowne Plaza Dulles Airport Hotel in Herndon, Va., recently completed a full renovation and unveiled its new look to guests. Jonathan Nehmer + Associates (JN+A) and HVS Design provided architecture and interior design services for the renovation.
Located 2 miles from Dulles International Airport, the hotel underwent a six-month, multi-million dollar renovation that transformed the hotel’s public areas and 327 guestrooms and suites.
The hotel’s vestibule, lobby, meeting areas, club-lounge, guest corridors, guest rooms, and suites were updated to feature new modern design that is timeless yet refreshingly current. It’s a look that highlights the use of mixed materials, stone, glass, metal, and wood and one that focuses on strong simple lines to create bold statements. The lobby features a stunning two-story intricate millwork sculpture, a mélange of textured wood, a floating marble front desk, a den-like lounge with a two-sided stone fireplace, and a new 24-hour café serving Starbucks for lobby activation.
In addition to the completed work, the fitness center is in the process of being expanded and will feature the brand’s new modern prototypical design, created for the Crowne Plaza brand by HVS Design.
The Crowne Plaza Dulles Airport is managed by SharCon Management. First Finish was the general contractor for the project.
