How do you build your personal brand?

Be consistent. Your personal brand encompasses everything from your values to your motto, your personality, and your aesthetic. It is the authentic you. It’s how you dress, it’s how you speak, it’s how you show up, it’s the promises you make, and the business you’re in. Your brand represents your reputation and your signature. Your personal brand sends the message of who you are and what you stand for. It is the best advertisement and the strongest resume to convince those in your professional life that you are the only person for the job. You are promoting your personal brand in everything you do—whether you realize it or not—and consistency is key.

Use your passion to develop the values of your personal brand and share them across all platforms, paying particular attention to your social media and digital footprint. Be authentic, reliable, and deliver when you say you will. In today’s busy world, people must be able to count on you and trust that you will deliver without question. Your personal brand is the most powerful marketing tool you can use to differentiate yourself from the competition. Regardless of the environment that you are in, your personal brand is key to standing out.

By repeatedly meeting and exceeding expectations you will build trust while creating a loyal customer base. Competition is fierce and consistency gives you a simple, yet valuable competitive advantage over less reliable brands. It builds confidence and credibility, and creates the standards that your colleagues and customers will grow to expect.
