Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel Completes Revamp

CHICAGO—Directly connected to Chicago O’Hare International Airport’s domestic terminals via underground walkways, Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel announced today the completion of a renovation incorporating its signature restaurants, Andiamo and Sports Edition.

Located in the east lobby level, Andiamo Restaurant is the hotel’s contemporary Italian concept that serves fresh seafood, pizza and pasta using ingredients imported directly from Italy, paired with an extensive wine list and locally distilled spirits. Hailing from Sicily, Executive Chef Thomas Flott looks to the Amalfi coast and southern Italy for inspiration. The new menus feature non-traditional dishes that are currently trending in Italian cafes and eateries like Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana. Entrees including Mediterranean seared meagre with fennel, blood orange, onion marmalade and smoked trout roe, and hand-selected ingredients such as Castelvetrano olives from Sicily and cheeses like Scarmoza add depth to the new offerings.

“Andiamo was born out of the desire to offer authentic Italian cuisine to the millions of travelers who pass through Chicago O’Hare each year and those who stay at the Hilton O’Hare,” said Michael McGilligan, General Manager at Hilton Chicago O’Hare. “At Andiamo, the story is in the ingredients sourced straight from Italy and menus inspired by Italian culture. We are proud that these changes will ensure that it continues to be one of the top eateries outside downtown that offers an authentic culinary experience.”

Looney & Associates designed the new Andiamo Restaurant to reflect a city-smart space resembling an Italian bistro where guests can balance business with leisure. The color palette shifted the dominating color from red to blue and incorporated tones of brown and tan to blend with the existing millwork and introduce a calming space away from the airport hustle and bustle. Elegant soft-to-the-touch fabrics wrap the dining chairs and spacious booths that line the restaurant, complemented by dark geometric-patterned carpeting and welcoming tones of rich wood.

An expansive night aerial view of the city and decorative touches including large mirrors, open-concept wooden wine racks and rectangular sconces modernize the space. The Twilight Room, a private event space for up to 24 people, also completed a renovation including a new video wall that features four 55” high-definition screens that display separate viewing options or one large 110” image, with in-wall HDMI and VGA ports for videos and presentations.

The Sports Edition Bar, located in the east lobby level, boasts a dozen new hi-definition, 50-inch flat screen televisions and multifunctional communal tables for groups to meet and mingle. The kitchen offers a refined sports bar menu featuring items such as sun-dried tomato flatbread, spicy Italian sausage burger and wagyu beef carpaccio.

Hilton Chicago O’Hare is popular for “fly-in, fly-out” meetings, with 41 conference rooms and 18,500 square feet of event space for business travelers to attend meetings without having to leave airport property. Hotel guests can enjoy a variety of amenities including an 8,000-square-foot fitness center with indoor pool and sauna, soundproof Day Rooms, Family Suites that can ease the burden on a family traveling with kids, and additional dining options from Gaslight Club offering perfectly prepared steaks, seafood or juicy burgers, and grab-and-go menu items from Café Mercato.
