TownePlace Suites by Marriott Marks 500th Hotel Opening

TownePlace Suites by Marriott marked its 500th hotel with the opening of TownePlace Suites Richmond Colonial Heights in Virginia, the state where the brand debuted its inaugural hotel in 1997.

Twenty-six years after its debut, TownePlace Suites has become a fast-growing brand with an all-suite, extended-hotel model. In addition to the 500th opening this month, the brand has hundreds of additional properties in the development pipeline, all within the United States and Canada.

All TownePlace Suites properties include pet-friendly accommodations, all-suite floor plans, full kitchens, and outdoor space. The properties are suited to cater to all types of longer-stay guests. Some of the brand’s recent openings include TownePlace Suites by Marriott Dallas Rockwallin, Texas, and TownePlace Suites By Marriott Tampa Clearwater, Florida.

“TownePlace Suites has experienced exponential growth and success as a hotel brand of choice for modern-day travelers, and TownePlace Suites Richmond Colonial Heights is a remarkable addition to the portfolio,” said Diana Plazas, senior vice president and global brand leader of select brands at Marriott International. “We will continue to grow our footprint to provide guests with the opportunity to live uninterrupted.”

Located just south of Richmond, the 131-room hotel offers studio or one-bedroom suites with WiFi, kitchens, and an Elfa closet system from The Container Store. On property, guests can have a hot breakfast, a lobby bar, and stainless steel Weber Grills in the hotel’s outdoor patio area with tools, spices, and seasoning. TownePlace Suites Richmond Colonial Heights offers access to the Appomattox River Trail and is located near Virginia State University and Ft. Lee Gregg Adams Army base.
