Tips for Outsourcing

Chris Green, COO of Chesapeake Hospitality, offers these three tips for hoteliers who are considering outsourcing some of their operations.

The guest comes first. “Make sure nothing you do impacts the guest negatively. All outsourcing operations should be an enhancement to the guest experience.”

Be competitive. “I would talk to at least three people about getting bids for the service I want to outsource to ensure your rates are competitive. You want them trying to outbid each other.”

Run your own numbers. “The providers will come in and give you a performance, but they’re obviously trying to win your business. You need to look hard and understand what your projections do in accordance with their projections.”
