Sanderling Resort Reopens After Multi-Million Dollar Renovation

DUCK, N.C.—Sanderling Resort in the Outer Banks has announced the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation. The resort is unveiling a new look that includes seven new guestrooms, two new pools, and revitalized restaurant concepts, as well as updated amenities and programming.

“Sanderling Resort has been an integral part of the Outer Banks experience for generations of families,” said General Manager Dick McAuliffe . “The extensive renovations over this past winter have elevated the resort experience at every touch point; complemented by service with a dash of southern charm, guests will find even more reason to continue to build memories in this special destination.”

Renovations include two new pools, featuring an adults-only Tranquility Pool, accented with cantilever umbrellas, group seating areas, and chaise lounges; and a family-friendly lagoon-style pool, designed to match the region’s topography and temperate climate. The hotel also now offers seven new poolside guest rooms.

The hotel restaurant, formerly known as the Left Bank, has been rebranded as Kimball’s Kitchen. The steak and seafood restaurant will feature a raw bar with an extensive oyster selection, steak and seafood entrees with traditional side dishes, signature dishes, and nightly specials. An outdoor dining deck, called the Lifesaving Station, will offer a casual eatery with a nautical theme.

Upgraded meeting spaces have been reconfigured and increase the resorts event capacity to 12,000 square feet. Located on the ocean side, the 1,500-square-foot Event House offers indoor seating for up to 100 people for meetings or dining events. The new Event Deck will serve as an outdoor location for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and corporate dinners alongside the newly installed fire pit.

In addition to physical enhancements, Sanderling is introducing new partnerships with Outer Banks outdoor specialists such as Kitty Hawk Kites, which will offer on-property activities including kayaking, surfing, paddle-boarding, skim-boarding, and bicycle rentals.
