Royal Sonesta Boston Updates Meeting and Event Space

BOSTON—Royal Sonesta Boston has just unveiled 28,000 square feet of newly renovated meeting and event space featuring contemporary furnishings while showcasing views of the Charles River and the Boston skyline. A luxury business and leisure hotel, Royal Sonesta Boston is located on the Cambridge bank of the Charles River, where Cambridge meets Boston. It captures the best of both cities, celebrating art, education, history, and technology at its doorstep.

The hotel’s naturally-lit, premium event space embraces updates in both the hotel’s east and west towers, including 3,800 square feet of outdoor patio space, the 6,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, the 3,135-square-foot Riverfront room, and the 1,008-square-foot Somerset room. The new University rooms and Skyline Suites lead to four and five break-out meeting rooms, respectively.

“We are very excited to reintroduce our meeting and event space which completes a total renovation of our entire hotel,” said Michael J. Medeiros, general manager, Royal Sonesta Boston. “Much of both Boston and Cambridge’s unique and creative aspects were considered when creating the design and feel of this newly updated hotel. From the patios to the Grand Ballroom, to our suites and guestrooms, this is a completely renovated and beautiful new hotel. We are thrilled to support our guests’ social and professional pursuits and welcome them for each and every occasion.”

Each of the upscale and flexible spaces serves as a destination. Equipped with the latest technology, the rooms are designed for comfort and convenience. The expansive Grand Ballroom features deep blue carpet with geometric, silver accents indicative of the shimmer off the Charles River waters. The wall coverings reveal grand mirrors showcasing water views from every angle. The Riverside Terrace, one of Boston’s premier outdoor venues, features direct views of the Charles River and Boston city skyline and is a beautiful location for lunch, dinners, and receptions for up to 250 people.
