Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden Celebrates Earth Day

The movement continues. Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden celebrated Earth Day on April 22 with more than a billion people across the globe. Recently upgraded to being silver certified by EarthCheck, the hotel has continued its momentum to build an eco-friendly abode for its valued guests by raising various awareness programs and implementing carbon remission activities. Tree plantation, double side printing, linen re-use, rain water harvesting, and recycling vegetable waste are a few of the many steps which are executed by the hotel on a regular basis. Committed to becoming better stewards of the environment, Earth Day was lined with a string of activities which consisted of heads of departments replacing halogen bulbs with LED bulbs (1,393 50W Halogen bulbs were substituted by 5W LED bulbs which will result in power savings of 173,084.40 BDT per month), a cleaning spree, reduced usage of heavy machineries, and a unique contest where guests and employees were encouraged to submit ideas which were put up on an idea board. The best idea swept away a grand prize of an extravagant dinner for two at the hotel’s Water Garden Brasserie, won by a guest.

“Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden is an exemplary for green initiatives and continues to inspire with groundbreaking ideas for honoring our planet and raising awareness,” stated Christoph Voegeli, general manager.
