Philly Could Get Third Kimpton Hotel

Just a short while ago we told you about Philadelphia’s buzzing hotel scene. And it looks like the city is showing no signs of slowing down development.

According to this article from Philly.com, Mayor Michael Nutter is expected to announce that Kimpton Hotels and Resorts will be taking over the Family Court building in the city’s Logan Square neighborhood.

Three companies submitted proposals to develop the space, and it appears that Kimpton has won the contract. Working with Peebles Corp. of New York City and local developers P&A Associates, Kimpton is expected to transform the building into a 199-room hotel with a 3,500-square-foot ballroom, meeting and board rooms, a spa and fitness center, and a restaurant and bar.

Kimpton already has two other hotels in Philadelphia—the Hotel Palomar, located in Rittenhouse Square, and the Hotel Monaco, which opened in Philly’s Old City neighborhood in 2012.
