PGAV Destinations Designer Jim Wible Promoted to Director

Jim Wible, PGAV DestinationsPGAV Destinations Senior Attraction Designer Jim Wible has been promoted to Director of Attraction Development at the St. Louis-based design firm.

In his new position, Mr. Wible will focus on design leadership, mentoring developing attraction designers, and sculpting PGAV’s overall design processes.

“The most exciting thing for me is the chance to lead bigger teams through the development of the newest, most incredible projects,” said Wible. “Attractions are only as good as the team behind them, and I have the humble honor of getting to work with – and now lead – an incredible variety of creative, talented people here at PGAV.” Wible stated that he’s most looking forward to mentoring other designers in attraction design, strategy, presentation skills, and the “PGAV Way” of design: far beyond architects, but creating amazing places for people to go and fall in love with.

Having worked with PGAV for 27 years, Wible’s work has taken him around the globe from Singapore to Hong Kong, Dubai to Germany. “My vision for numerous attractions has been shaped by travelling all over the world,” said Wible. The industry-leading attraction designer has played a key role throughout all three SeaWorlds, both Busch Gardens, and Discovery Cove. His creativity, strategy, and artistry can also be experienced at Universal Studios, the Georgia Aquarium, National Aviary, Niagara Falls, and most recently the master plan for the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

“Jim is well known throughout PGAV – and the industry – as someone with beautiful drawing skills, a high level of energy and passion, and as a designer who’s always advocating for the guest,” said Mike Konzen, PGAV Destinations Chair and Principal. “The excitement for the craft and talent he embodies will continue to be contagious to those he leads.”

Jim is a graduate of Basic and Advanced Individual Training and Non-Commissioned Officers School for the US Army and holds a BS in Industrial Design from Kent State University. Jim remains a steadfast member of IAAPA, the TEA, and Toastmasters International and lives in Imperial, MO in the home he designed and built.
