My Place To Expand Into South Carolina

GREENVILLE, S.C.—My Place Hotels of America announced that its first hotel in South Carolina is slated to open in Greenville in the Spring of 2018. The hotel’s owners, Aaron Lawson and Daniel Pretorius, recently debuted the brand in Idaho with their Boise/Meridian location.

The four-story, 85-unit hotel will be located within the I-85 corridor. After completing the Meridian hotel, Lawson and Liam Hough’s Celtic Services, Inc. will also build the Greenville property. Pretorius said that the Greenville location is an emerging market that is similar to their first location in Meridian, both with activity, dining, retail, and entertainment options nearby.

“We want to make sure every hotel we build isn’t just a success, but a homerun for all our guests,” Pretorius said. “As the midpoint between Charlotte and Atlanta, our location in Greenville will be prime for both seasoned and leisure travelers.”

With 100 My Place locations on the horizon, Pretorius is developing, owning, and operating America’s 32nd My Place hotel, but his group isn’t stopping there. “Number 32 is very special to me, but hopefully there will be many more to come from us,” Pretorius said. “Just like coming in at ground floor of any organization, it takes dedication. We knew we were going to grow with My Place and by being one of the firsts, we knew we would be heard and have influence early on. My Place’s willingness to work with us and allow us to assist with its growth is incredible.”

Terry Kline, My Place executive vice president of franchise sales and development, said that the brand is a beneficiary of the passion, dedication and drive possessed by Lawson and Pretorius. As the brand prepares for another state debut in South Carolina, Kline said My Place’s historic milestones wouldn’t be possible without its trailblazing franchisees and partners.

“Today we congratulate Aaron, Daniel and their team on a job impeccably well done,” Kline said. “While their first My Place hotel in Idaho stands as a testament to their unrelenting commitment and dedication, we look forward to working with them to introduce My Place to the state of South Carolina.”
