The wait is almost over. The Marriott-Starwood merger hinges on one final regulatory approval from China, which is anticipated to be complete by Aug. 9. In an earnings call with analysts on Thursday, Marriott CEO Arne Sorenson said he does not predict any additional regulatory phases, paving the way for the merger to be complete within the coming weeks. Then, in what he expects to be a two-year process, the two companies will be fully integrated. So far, this has been a nearly nine-month process, with Marriott initially reaching an agreement to buy Starwood on Nov. 16, 2015. To read more, click here.
