OTAs ‘Dimming’ Hotel Search Results

    As more hotels promote direct-booking discounts, a retaliatory practice among OTAs called “dimming” has come to light. It involves intentionally minimizing a hotel’s appearance or ranking in search results. Expedia admitted it is lowering some hotel rankings but said it was for consumers’ benefit. Read more here.
