CHICAGO—Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced today the official name of the latest four-star boutique hotel in Chicago as The Kimpton Gray Hotel, expanding its footprint in the city. Leading the hotel management team will be Nabil Moubayed as the general manager and Dina Giardina as the director of sales and marketing. Located in the heart of Chicago’s financial district, The Kimpton Gray is slated to open this spring at 122 W Monroe Street, Chicago, Ill.
An adaptive reuse of the landmark New York Life Insurance Building, originally built in 1894, this extensive multi-million dollar renovation project will embody the bustling spirit of the Financial District, showcased in 293 rooms, and nearly 13,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Inspiration for the boutique hotel’s name comes from the building’s original materials such as the Georgia Gray marble and granite throughout. Features will include beautifully designed guest rooms and suites that portray an effortless elegance and an upscale salon and day spa.
The Kimpton Gray will host two distinctive food and beverage outlets including a lobby bar with an emphasis on high-end wine and spirits and rooftop restaurant and lounge boasting a retractable roof to be open all year long.
Several full-service amenities will be located on the ground floor of the building including a restaurant managed by The Fifty/50 Group as well as two fast-casual options, Starbucks, and Protein Bar.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this property and the opportunity to lead the team here,” said Moubayed, general manager of The Kimpton Gray and Midwest director of operations. “The Midwest has been an integral part of Kimpton’s growth story for more than a decade and we look forward to our continued success in Chicago.”
