Kimpton Aertson Hotel Opens in Midtown Nashville

NASHVILLE–Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will open its first venture in Nashville on June 14. The Kimpton Aertson Hotel is located at the corner of 21st Avenue and Broadway in the Music City’s Midtown neighborhood. As anchor of the new mixed-use complex Aertson Midtown, the hotel will offer its own unique gateway to the rhythm of Nashville. The opening is part of the boutique hotel company’s expansion of its footprint in the Southeast.

From the living room to the 17th floor, Kimpton Aertson Hotel tells a story that pays homage to its neighboring university’s namesake, Cornelius Vanderbilt. Aertson Hotel recalls the humble beginnings of the Vanderbilt family’s Dutch ancestor Jan Aertson, who established the family’s roots in America in the mid-17th century. That pioneering spirit is one that drove the railroad tycoon to elevate the family name to legendary status, and one that to this day characterizes the creative and innovative spirit of Nashville.

Many of Kimpton Aertson Hotel’s 180 guestrooms, including 12 spacious suites, offer city and Vanderbilt campus views. Aertson has a contemporary arts program throughout the property, beginning with the front desk’s commissioned creation of hand-knotted, painted rope by artist Orly Genger. The open-concept living room further extends its welcome with industrial-meets-organic details like herringbone tiled floors, a cascading curtain of river stones in front of a double-sided fireplace, and reclaimed wood ceilings.

“We are ready to bring our innovative and authentic boutique hotel experience to one of America’s most exciting cities, Nashville,” says General Manager Mark Hayes. “Our guests will be treated like family from the moment they arrive, welcomed with a genuine smile and locally tailored amenities at their fingertips.”

Adjacent to the hotel and accessible through Aertson’s living room is Henley, a modern American brasserie where James Beard Award-winning Chef RJ Cooper serves a culinary menu of shareable dishes and communal courses highlighting regional flavors. Henley’s full bar, wine, and cocktail program evolves seasonally with a strong emphasis on whiskey, bourbon, and Southern spirits.

On its 8th floor, Aertson Hotel boasts more than 6,500-square-feet of flexible meeting and event spaces to accommodate groups and parties of all sizes and occasions. Its 3,630-square-foot Patterson Ballroom has floor-to-ceiling windows and a large wrap-around private outdoor terrace, providing unobstructed views of the city. Aertson Hotel’s 17th floor indoor event space and private outdoor terrace accommodates up to 150 guests with 270-degree panoramic views of downtown Nashville. All of the events at Aertson Hotel enjoy chef-driven creative catering menus from Henley’s Executive Chef RJ Cooper, bringing award-winning restaurant experiences to private events and meetings.

Guest amenities at Aertson Hotel include all of Kimpton’s signature offerings: Atelier Bloem bath amenities; its “Forgot It? We’ve Got It!” menu of travel and vacation essentials; a mini bar with a hint of local flair; free Wi-Fi for Kimpton Karma Rewards members; complimentary morning coffee and tea service in the living room; hosted nightly social hour featuring local blends; and health-minded wellness options, such as complimentary custom PUBLIC Bikes rentals, 24-hour access to the hotel’s expansive fitness center, and an in-room Gaiam yoga mat for use during a guest’s stay. Unique to Aertson Hotel, the 8th floor has an outdoor swimming pool and cabanas to soak up the Southern sun, and the adjacent Woodhouse Day Spa is available to guests for pampering services from massages to manicures. As with all Kimpton properties, Aertson Hotel is pet-friendly, welcoming four-legged guests and providing them with their own services and amenities upon registration at no extra cost.
