InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened Hotel Indigo Düsseldorf – Victoriaplatz at the center of this fashion-forward German city.
Hotel Indigo Düsseldorf-Victoriaplatz will operate under a franchise agreement with LFPI Hotels Management Germany GmbH. The hotel will be the third Hotel Indigo property in Germany, alongside Hotel Indigo Berlin – Alexanderplatz and Hotel Indigo Berlin – Ku’Damm.
Hotel Indigo Düsseldorf – Victoriaplatz’s 126 individually designed bedrooms take inspiration from the local area with statement furniture and vibrant colours. Each floor pays tribute to a different decade of fashion from the 50s through to the 2000s, illustrated through the fabrics and patterns used. Murals, shot by fashion photographer and stylist Armin Morbach, are visible throughout the hotel, showcasing iconic designs from the relevant decades, depicting the fashion industry’s growth from the 50s to present day.
Guests can enjoy the hotel’s garden terrace or try a famous Altbier (a local ale) in the cocktail lounge. A dress kitchen and bar uses seasonal ingredients to create the menu with dishes from the Rhine region and an eclectic wine and cocktail list. Guests can make use of the free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and enjoy their own selection of music through the iPod docking station in their bedroom. All bedrooms will be provided with a minibar, 32 inch LCD TV, and high comfort mattress.
Tom Rowntree, IHG said, “Hotel Indigo Düsseldorf – Victoriaplatz will be the third Hotel Indigo hotel to open in Germany,” said Tom Rowntree, VP of brand management and quality, Europe for IHG. “The two Hotel Indigo properties in Berlin have proved a popular base for city explorers and we look forward to welcoming guests to this new hotel.”
As IHG’s boutique brand, every Hotel Indigo property is designed to reflect the local neighbourhood. From the building design to the hotel’s artwork and locally-inspired menus, each Hotel Indigo hotel is unique to its surroundings.
