New York City-based startup StayAwhile offers members access to unoccupied hotel inventory. Conceived as a program for people who want to live in different hotels and furnished apartments all over the world, the company aims to help hoteliers recapture some of the extended-stay market share they’re losing to lodging disruptors like Airbnb. StayAwhile’s hotels are chosen by an in-house team of travelers and tastemakers, and the company plans to start accepting members this spring and offering reservations this summer.
