Downtown Grand Las Vegas Joins Ascend Collection

LAS VEGAS—Ascend Hotel Collection from Choice Hotels International has added the Downtown Grand Las Vegas to its list of upscale hotels.

On November 12, the hotel’s two towers and casino will host a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Mayor of Las Vegas and other local dignitaries.

This 634-room hotel is the largest member in the Ascend Hotel Collection, a network of one-of-a-kind properties. Each Ascend hotel is a unique reflection of the character of its host city, yet all offer the same high standards of hospitality and comfort.

“What makes Downtown Grand Las Vegas so extraordinary is that it offers a world class experience while remaining firmly committed to the local downtown Las Vegas vibe. That upscale, local experience is the essence of the Ascend Hotel Collection,” said Michael Murphy, senior vice president of upscale brands at Choice Hotels International. “We had been eagerly awaiting the doors to open and are extremely pleased to have it as a highlight within the portfolio. This hotel and the rapidly growing Ascend Hotel Collection truly embody the future of Choice Hotels International.”

The guestrooms at Downtown Grand Las Vegas offer five room types—Deluxe, Premium, One-Bedroom Suite, City Suite and Grand Suite. Rooms feature high-definition flat screen televisions, pillow top mattresses, luxurious bed linens, plush lounge chairs and stylish custom furnishings.

The Downtown Grand Casino, a reclaimed factory space, gives patrons an open and unique gaming environment. The casino offers traditional games like slot machines, tables, Baccarat, and sports bets, as well as untraditional games like “Street Dice” where gamblers place bets and play outside the casino on 3rd Street.

For business travelers and special occasions, Downtown Grand Las Vegas offers 2,500 square feet of indoor meeting space and 35,000 square feet of space at PICNIC, the urban rooftop pool retreat.
